So I caught the movie last night and if I were to write a serious analysis it could well turn into a tabulation of its faults. Suffice it to say, the film looked like the attempt of an untrained amateur. It is irreverent to recent history and rife with chronological inaccuracies. Gowtham seems confused initially on whose point of view we should see the story from. The narrative shift in the beginning was the first ripped seam from where the fabric of the film started ripping. And once he finally settles down on Surya Jr. as the main narrator, the voice over cuts in at the most inopportune moments taking away from the scenes. OK I'll stop. As I said it is turning into a tabulation of faults.
I've been lazy of late. Need to do a short NY recap (will possibly substitute pictures for words here) and then complete the tag I self imposed over at Zero's.

hi. looks like mr menon needs some time off high-jink interviews and barbs at industry colleagues to sit down and do half-decent scripts. haven't caught VA yet, though. is there any Forrest Gump link to it, as has been the talk? and why such delay in the making? does it show?
Krishna: Welcome. I believe the delay was probably due to distribution issues (with the rights finally ending up with Udhayanidhi Stalin's company I think). It (the delay) doesn't show in the film, but what does show are the disjointed edges from the poor writing. Some of the romantic scenes are not bad and the performances are all very good. Its just that I find it hard to pardon bad writing.
The link to Forrest Gump is in that it is the journey of a man and that some recent american history impacts him.
